WIP - Parentals Portrait!

Crochet = <3

46 rows in and things are starting to take shape a lil bit!
Dodgy arse blurry photo thanks to camera phone, but still looking fab!
For some reason the pattern doesn't show up his specs, which makes himslook a lil odd, but man it was a TAD FREAKY last night..
I got Dad to hold it up next to him and to make things more *twilight zone-ish* he happened to be wearing the same shirt as he is in the piece and holy crap....it was weird man..
So life like 0_o
So unbelievable to think that a few colours and stitches placed at certain intervals can produce a picture so detailed and precise. I know pics themselves are made up of millions of teeny tiny squares or dots or whatever, but it still flips me out.
So am looking forward to seeing it all done and dusted so I can move on to the next piece!

Holy moly, that's awesome!

And i can see by the toes at the bottom that it's a HUGE piece as well!

Well done, and what a wonderful handmade treasure for your parents to receive!!!

Thank you!!
It is quite big - 150x117 stitches!
It's just starting to get to that annoying size, where you have to keep lugging it to and fro as you work to keep the bulk of it out of the way!

I'll definitely have the camera ready for the *kodak moment* @ unveiling time ^_^

My first attempt was at the 1970's 2SM radio station logo (my Dad is a radio nut).

Very shoddy in comparison!

With this portrait piece i've found my groove and it looks 5ooo times better ^_^
I had hoped to enter it in the Canberra Show next year, but hadn't thought of local galleries!
Do you really think they would?!
I do have plans to pay hommage to my music icons - namely Aussies from the 70s at this stage. Maybe that would lend itself to an exhibition..
How exciting! I'd never really thought of the possibilities!
(You did well with the typing considering! lol)
